Is the race open for registration?

Will there be RACE DAY Registration?

Yes, a limited number of applications will be available on at the Expo and on race day However, it is possible the race may fill up and close out. Stay tuned to the web site for details on race registration closure.

May I pick up a bib number for a friend ?

Yes, we do allow this. If possible, please bring a copy of the race registration confirmation email for verification.

Where do I get my bib number and T-shirt?

Join us at the Patriot Place Fitness Expo on the day prior to the race. Registration packets with race bib numbers (B-tag) can be picked up at the expo, see times and dates below.

Number Pickup Location: (For July 2nd and 3rd) Look for the large white tent setup behind the Renaissance Hotel and by Red Robin Gourmet Burgers.

When is the race?

The race is scheduled for Tuesday evening, 6:00 PM, July 3rd, 2012.

What time does the race start?

Both the 5K and the 10K events will start promptly at 6:00 PM. Runners will self seed themselves according to pace. (Faster runners should start in the front of the pack, slower runners in the back.)

What is the average temperature at race time?Avenger

Based on the past 11 years, at 6:00 PM in Foxborough on July 4th the average temperature is 72 degrees with a range of 62 to 86.

Where does the race start?

The 5K and 10K race start in Patriot Place in Foxborough, MA, 02035. A more exact map will be posted at a later date.

Where does the race finish?

The race finishes by running through the stadium entrance - through the inflated helmet and to the 50 yard line inside Gillette Stadium at Patriot Place. After your triumphant finish, the finish chute will bring you out by the bridge and the Lighthouse.

What distance is this race?

There are two races, a 5K ( 3.1 miles) and a 10K (6.2 miles) long. The course will be certified, accurate, well marked, and there will be mile markers for each mile.

Are walkers allowed?

Yes! Walkers are very welcome. Please start in the appropriate place in the pack. The course for the 10K is open for at least 2 hours, which is 20 minute walking pace.

How do I register?crowd

Will I get a race shirt?

Yes, all pre-registered runners will receive a commemorative race T shirt at packet pickup. Note, T-Shirts may or may not be available race day. To insure that you receive a T-shirt please pre-register.

Will there be a start mat?

Yes, all entrants will receive an accurate time based on their crossing the start and finish line mat.

Will this race be "chip timed"?

Yes, this race will use the latest "disposable" chip called the B-Tag. This "chip" is built into your Bib tag that you wear on the front of your shirt . It is a small tag with an electronic sensor that records when you travel over the start and finish mat. This is the same system used now in the Boston Marathon. Note: PLEASE Do not fold, spindle or mutilate your bib tag AND wear it on the front of your shirt for best results.

Will spectators be allowed into the stadium?

YES Spectators will have the very best seats in the stadium - close to the field in the lower bowl of Gillette Stadium to watch and cheer on racers as they cross the finish line.

Where can my friends/family meet me after the race?

All participants will exit the stadium onto the Patriot Place Plaza. A "meeting zone" will be setup for easy connection with loved ones.

Where is the after-race celebration?

Be sure to celebrate your big finish inside the stadium and have friends and family take plenty of pictures. After you finish your 5K or 10K race, you will be directed to the Patriot Place Plaza where after-race food and beverages will be available. Meet up with your friends and family, visit the Hall of Fame or the Pro Shop at Patriot Place and enjoy great food and music.

What is the course like?

This is a great course for novice and experienced runners alike. The course starts in the Patriot Place parking lot and finishes inside the Gilette Stadium at Patriot Place. The 10K course is a loop through Foxborough near the Neponset Reservoir. Runners and walkers will start in pre-designated waves in the Gillette Stadium Parking lot by Patriot Place. The 5K course takes place completely within the grounds of Patriot Place. A detailed map for both race will be available at a later date.

Can I drive the course beforehand?

Yes. Please note the 10K course is accessible by car. Find out more on our Course page. The 5K course is on the grounds of Patriot Place. Some areas are restricted and you will not be able to access them before the race.

Will there be restroom facilities on the course?

Yes. There will be bathroom facilities on the course. Their exact locations are to be decided.

Where will the aid stops be?

There will be aid/water stops at approximately each mile and provisions at the finish. football-guy

Where is the best place to watch the race from?

Inside the Stadium is the best place of course! But you may choose to be anywhere along the course where you will get a great view of the race. Spectators are welcome to come to the start to cheer on the runners.

The race course itself is closed to vehicle traffic during the race and we strongly discourage driving near the course, as with several thousand runners on the road you may simply be stuck in traffic.

How many runners will be participating?

For the safety of our race participants the number of participants will be capped at 6,000 runners and walkers*. We expect to fill up this race and close registration. We would love to let everyone in, but safety requires that we limit the field. (combined race total)

Where can I stay when I travel to the race?

Patriot Place has the beautiful Renaissance Hotel & Spa right on the premises, and Foxborough offers a fine selection of accommodations. See our Places to Stay page for more details.

Where can I park?

Parking at Gillette Stadium is plentiful and free. Parking will not be an issue. Please plan to arrive at least one hour before the race to allow time for everyone to park.

Will there be changing facilities?

No. We cannot offer places to change or shower after the race. Please come dressed to run.

Am I allowed to run with my dog?

No, dogs are not allowed in this race and will not be allowed in the stadium for the finish.

Am I allowed to push a baby jogger or stroller*?

Yes, baby joggers or strollers are allowed under these conditions: You must line up at the end of the runner section in the corrals. Please plan to walk or jog slowly for at least the first two miles of the race until the pack has spread out. Please do not plan on "racing" or running a fast pace while pushing your child. Please remember to be courteous of other runners with your baby jogger and have fun. The safety of your young one is in your hands.

May physically challenged athletes with wheelchairs or hand cycles register?

Yes. The race will accept your application and enter you in the race. However, please make every effort to register at least three weeks before the event to allow us to better plan for your safety and the safety of others. Also, please notify the race director what type of cycle you will use and your expected finish time*.

Who is the race organizer?

The Harvard Pilgrim 10K at Patriot Place is professionally organized by DMSE Sports, Inc.. (Dave McGillivray Sports Enterprise) and Michael St. Laurent from LOCO Sports.
